Community

The Namgyal Yangzab Buddhist Community of Canada (NYBCC) was established in 2015 by Lama Yongdu Chokyi Gyaltsen. It was inspired by the awake compassion and instructions of his root gurus and Teachers to nurture the liberation of all sentient life.

The NYBCC's mission is to support the blazing lineages carried by our Teachers, Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen, Drikung Lho Ontul Rinpoche, and Lho Karma Ratna Rinpoche. It creates a meeting space to bring together both the many Rime Dharma transmissions and instructions given by Karma Dorje Namgyal Rinpoche (1931-2003) to his students and the profound transmission lineages of the Drikung Dzogchen (Gongpa Yangzab), including a vast body of Dharma by the 19-20th century saint Orgyen Nuden Dorje.

The NYBCC carries out its mission through the following activities

* Supporting for the teaching and Dharma activities of our Teachers, including both in-person and online programs,
* Gathering and translating of profound texts of liberation from Tibetan to English,
* Generate and publish transcriptions, audio and video recordings of talks and teachings given by our Teachers
* Providing bursaries for students who wish to attend teachings, study and practice the Dharma in retreat.

Registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency, NYBCC also represents a global community of practitioners united by their certainty and confidence in their Teachers, lineages, and the Noble Path of Awakening.

NYBCC represents, hosts, and supports the Drikung Dzogchen Community of Canada.

The 37th Drikung Kyabgon Thrinle Lhundrup and the President of the International Drikung Kagyu Council showed their gratitude and appreciation towards our Teacher Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen (Lama Mark Webber), and the community of Canadian Drikung Dzogchen practitioners for upholding the Drikung Kagyu lineage and its precious Dzogchen tradition. Thus, this Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen by HE Drikung Lho Ontul Rinpoche in Toronto on June 10, 2019.
