Understanding Karma: A commentary on the teaching subject by Lama Mark Webber
The Foundation for the Five Seals of Dharma Realization is the understanding of karma and how confusion arises, i.e. mental intention, cause and effect, and confusion over the experience of appearances to mind.
The purification of mental intentions from unwholesome to beatific states is one of the most essential realizations and practices of Dharma, followed by the steady recognition of non-clinging awareness and great love.
There are many methods of purification of karmic formations and the confusion over our experiences. We will start with tuning up attentiveness and recollection of our experience. The varied methods are suitable to different types of personalities.
In Ortisei, Lama Webber will explain and gradually give practices of different approaches culminating in a Vajrasattva practice from Padmasambhava and a transmission of White Manjusri and Sarasvati by Rinchen Puntsog with a White Manjusri empowerment from the Drikung Kagyu tradition.
Dana for the Teacher
As is traditional, the teachings of Buddha Dharma are offered freely – Lama Gyaltsen receives no fee. The course fee only covers the teacher’s expenses during his European Tour (accommodation, food, travel and medicine).
However, there is an opportunity for participants to show their gratitude for the teachings and to help support the teacher. As a guideline, a minimum of EUR 20 per class is suggested.

Ontario Teaching Visit 2026
The Namgyal Yangzab Buddhist Community of Canada is delighted to announce that Lama Chökyi Gyaltsen will be teaching in Toronto and at The Dharma Centre of Canada this fall.
Toronto Urban Retreat – Session 1
Sept. 28 – Oct. 6
The Toronto Urban Retreat Sessions will focus on the Five Essential Realizations of Buddha Dharma, progressively profound recognitions that bridge ordinary experience and the transcendent nature of all beings and all experience.
Lama Gyaltsen will draw from the three major cycles of the Buddha’s teaching beginning with the first turning of the Wheel of Dharma and go right through to the ultimate view and activities of the third turning, Vajrayana.

Lama Gyaltsen will offer a reading and commentary on Ju Mipham’s text: Profound Instruction on Śamatha. Other transmissions and teachings to be announced.

October 10: October 10: Lama Gyaltsen will bestow the Karmapaksi empowerment & practice
October 11: With homage to Namgyal Rinpoche, The White Manjusri Empowerment will be bestowed. The utterly profound practice of a White Manjusri and Sarasvati mandala from the collected direct instructions (upadesha) of Gyalwang Rinchen Punstog (16th century) for a celebration and recollection of Ven. Dorje Namgyal Rinpoche’s great gifts to countless beings. Also, there will be a pith Guru Yoga practice of the Union of Guru Rinpoche-Namgyal Rinpoche as revealed to Lama Gyaltsen. All are welcome to attend!
