Translation of the Teachings of Lord Jigten Sumgön and Orgyen Nuden Dorje

In the year 2018, Lama Chokyi Gyaltsen organized a pilgrimage trip to Tibet, together with Lho Ontul Rinpoche and Lho Ratna Rinpoche, their wives, and accompanied by about thirty Dharma students. During an eight-day visit of the Lho Lungkhar Monastery (Wogmin Thubten Shedrup Ling) near Zadoi/Dzatö in the province of Qinghai (former region of Kham, East-Tibet), the Lama, his students and Ontul Rinpoche’s students received many transmissions and empowerments from H.E. Lho Ontul Rinpoche and H.E. Lho Bongtul Tendzin Nyima Rinpoche, the present spiritual leader of this monastery. At the end of the visit, Lama Gyaltsen was presented with the texts of the complete teachings of Lord Jigten Sumgön (12 volumes) and all available works of Drikung Orgyen Nuden Dorje (1849-1902) (18 of 21 volumes).

Lama Gyaltsen’s translation project focuses first on the un-translated works of Lho Nuden Dorje with translations of Lord Jigten Sumgön when needed for practice or teachings. Currently our main translator is Doris Unterthurner who holds a master's degree from the University of Vienna Austria, in the field of Tibetology and Buddhist Studies. Her Master’s thesis is on the life of Drikung Tulku Orgyen Nuden Dorje.
